NANS JCC Lagos Axis Forges Alliance With NDLEA TO Combat Student Drug Abuse

In an effort to combat the rising menace of drug abuse among students, the National Association of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Council (NANS JCC) Lagos Axis has entered into a partnership with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Lagos state command.

The leadership of NANS JCC Lagos Axis, led by Chairman Comrade Alimi Lekan Idris, held a crucial meeting with the State Commander of NDLEA Lagos, CN. Abubakar Wali.

The discussions centered on collaborative measures to address the escalating issue of drug abuse on campuses.

A pivotal proposal emerged from the meeting, as the Chairman suggested the organization of a one-day workshop focused on sensitizing students about the perils of drug abuse.

The workshop aims to enlighten students about the detrimental effects of substance abuse on their lives and future prospects.

Additionally, NANS JCC Lagos Axis proposed the establishment of a drug-free club committee among students, actively engaging in advocating for a drug-free environment within educational institutions.

This partnership signifies a crucial stride towards fostering a drug-free environment on campuses and empowering students to resist the allure of drug abuse.

It underscores the commitment of both NANS JCC Lagos Axis and NDLEA Lagos state command to jointly address the scourge of drug abuse, particularly within the student population.

Comrade Alimi Lekan Idris, Chairman of NANS JCC Lagos Axis, expressed dedication to creating a supportive educational environment and ensuring the well-being of students.

“The collaboration with NDLEA Lagos state command exemplifies the proactive and sustainable approach taken by the student leadership to curb the prevalence of drug abuse among students, he said”.
