“In the household, my sister is a calm, introverted lady who is easy going and friendly to all.
Amongst her peers, she is known as a strong proponent of peace with a virtue of hard work, selflessness and independence.”
This is Taiwo, her sister, remembering Omowumi Aishat Adesina, her “best friend”.
As family, friends, schoolmates, advocates and more continue to share their condolences over the death of deceased Omowumi Aishat Adeshina, Echonews gathered heartwarming dispositions about the 400 level Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) student.
Still in shock, many insist on speaking of her in the present.
Taiwo described Aishat as a reserved, and thoughtful individual who prefers avoiding busy environment.
Her parents, Mr and Mrs Adesina are still trying to cope with the pain of losing a child close to graduation.
Dressed in a pale green ankara outfit and seated on a brownish double cushion chair in their Flat 3, Block 533 residence at the Isolo Low Cost Housing Estate, Ejigbo, Mrs Adesina listened as she was consoled by sympathisers.
Soon, Mr, Adesina, dressed in a black short sleeve round neck and pants, came in. He described her as a child who strove to earn academic excellence throughout her stay in school.
“At times when I fall as sleep in my room, she will tip toe to my room to play with my facial features. Whenever I catch her appreciating my endowment, she will smile and joke that every beauty of me belongs to her.
“It’s painful that she was left with just one paper to attain success before death claimed her life because pictures of her sleepless nights studying to perform better in her exams keeps coming to mind.”
The closest elder sister of the deceased on her part narrates interesting moments they had shared before her demise.
“Aisha was an amazing being. In fact we’ve had plans on her next step after graduation but to God be the glory.
“Jokingly, I’m confident that mirror, white facial powder and fashionable head tie will miss her. She does not like to attract attention as she prefers smearing white facial powder instead of heavy makeover on her face and with her fancy head tie while consistently looking herself in the mirror to confirm her beauty whenever she decides to go for an outing.”
Confirming Adeshina’s manners in the household, her elder brother described her act of cleanliness as a beauty in itself.
“As a man, most times I usually appreciate how neat Aisha is because you will hardly see her on the same attire for two days.
“She usually wash her clothes everyday and you would never find her having a heap of unwashed dress in her room. I miss those moments she goes around very early in the morning drying her clothes on the wire line. I was so surprised when her roommate confirmed this same virtue in her despite being in school.”
Meanwhile, visiting neighbours while sharing their condolences, showed empathy to Mr and Mrs Adeshina for their endurance over the demise of their beloved while encouraging her siblings to continue to cater for the wellbeing of their parents.
