Mushin LG Distributes Relief Package to Senior Citizens

The Lagos State Free Medical Outreach at Bishop Aggey was officially launched Mr. Emmanuel Bamigboye, Chairman of Mushin Local Government, and the elderly, 60 years of age and above, were given food packs to take home.
The annual programme, which aims to offer free medical care to locals in all 57 LGs/LCDAs in Lagos State, was launched in Mushin on Thursday, May 30, 2024, by Mr. Emmanuel Bamigboye, the Chairman of Mushin Local Government.
Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu was congratulated by Health Supervisor Mr. Femi Nuga during his opening remarks for designating Mushin as the program’s starting point this year.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude to Mr. Emmanuel Bamigboye, the Chairman of the Mushin Local Government, for providing all the tools and assistance required to provide the residents of Mushin with high-quality emergency medical care and healthcare around-the-clock.
Throughout his speech, the Chairman thanked the Governor for showing concern and empathy for all Lagos residents, regardless of their racial or religious background.
He said that some individuals still take their health for granted, even in spite of the enormous sums of money poured in the healthcare industry. He expressed his gratitude to the state government for praising the efforts of his administration through the District IV Free Health Outreach initiative.
The council boss reaffirmed that Mushin is a business centre that has seen a significant number of migrants move there because of its unstable geographic location and high risk of health issues.
He gave a brief overview of some of his contributions to the provision of high-quality healthcare services to the residents of Mushin.
These include the following: the distribution of various health monitoring devices to enable the provision of healthcare services at the residents’ doorsteps; the provision of three ambulances for emergency medical services; and free monthly screenings and healthcare services to the public and public servants.
He finally appealed to the people to always make good use of these facilities and equipment by visiting the medical centres frequently to monitor their health status in order to take proactive and preventive measures against unforeseen emergence health situations.
In his address, representative of the Permanent Secretary of Health District VI (Dr. Abimbola Mabogunje), under the Lagos State Ministry of Health. Mr. Williams who delivered the message of the Permanent Secretary thanked the chairman for the ceremonial flag-off of the programme which is the first of the two phases of the programme, scheduled to hold at Mushin LGA, Ikeja LGA, Oshodi-Isolo LGA and Ejigbo LCDA to kick off the phase as commencement of the programme.
The chairman later presented packs of food items donated by the Executive Governor – Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu, to the elderly people above the age of 60 years present at the free medical outreach.
He also registered and went through the screening process to check his health status with diagnosis and prescription from the Doctors and health who attended to him before he was finally presented with medication and a pair of free eye glasses.
In his vote of thanks, the head of Health and Medical Services department in Mushin Local Government – Kayode Odufuwa, thanked the Executive Chairman for his support and passionate towards provide quality healthcare services to the people of Mushin. He also expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Ministry of Health for the programme, which compliments the monthly free healthcare mission being organised the local council, for the people of Mushin.
Dr. Odufuwa also expressed appreciation to all the medical team from Mushin and Odi Olowo, for their support and planning to make the programme success. He finally thanked members of the host community who stood with them for the planning and arrangements.
