Chairman of Mushin LG, Mr Tunbosun Aruwe has explained the motive behind the free Jamb forms he distributed to indigent students in the community.

In a significant boost to educational access and youth development, Aruwe distributed 500 free JAMB registration forms to deserving indigent students across the council area ahead of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The initiative, fully sponsored by the local government using public funds, aims to eliminate financial barriers that often prevent talented students from low-income families from pursuing higher education. Beneficiaries were selected based on strict eligibility criteria, including residency in Mushin, possession of a valid National Identification Number (NIN), minimum age of 16 years by September 31, and a completed WAEC result (no awaiting results).

Speaking at the event, Aruwe emphasized that effective governance must deliver tangible, people-centered results.

“We are channeling taxpayers’ money into initiatives that directly transform lives,” he said.

“Providing these free forms is important, but preparation is even more critical. That is why we have established structured, intensive tutorial classes to equip our students for success in the 2026 UTME.”

Classes run regularly, covering essential JAMB subjects such as Use of English, Mathematics, and electives including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Economics, and others based on candidates’ chosen streams. Sessions feature experienced instructors who deliver syllabus-focused lessons, in-depth past question analysis, CBT simulation techniques, time management strategies, and regular mock examinations to build exam confidence and readiness.

He reaffirmed his administration’s broader commitment to infrastructural upgrades, youth empowerment, and sustainable community progress, assuring residents of more impactful projects in the pipeline.

Parents and students have welcomed the program enthusiastically, describing it as a life-changing intervention that reduces family financial strain and motivates academic excellence.

One of the beneficiaries, Temitayo Ayoola, expressed gratitude to the chairman and vowed to excel in the examination to make Mushin proud.

As the 2026 UTME approaches, the chairman urged all beneficiaries to attend classes consistently, study diligently, and seize the opportunity provided.
