Man Remanded Over Alleged Rape Of Teenage Girl In Badagry

A man, Victor Kiere, is facing prosecution for allegedly having a non-consensual sex with a 16-year-old girl in Badagry.
During proceeding at the Badagry Magistrates’ Court, Kiere was accused of the sexual assault and remanded after his trial was adjourned.
Police Prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, disclosed that the 39-year-old suspect commited the offence sometime in April at Asheri Community Phase 2 in Badagry, thus, contravening the provisions of Sections 137 and 261 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
Thereafter, the Presiding Magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, directed Kiere should be held at the Badagry Correctional Centre pending advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP.
The case was adjourned till August 21.
