One Opeyemi Olanrewaju has been remanded for allegely raping his underage daughters at Ijegun area in Lagos.
Olanrewaju, who was also accused of defiling the minors was brought before the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court and remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
The accused, 40 years-old, is charged on a count of defilement.
Prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offence was committed between May and September 2021.
Akeem said that suspect’s wife caught him molesting their seven-year-old daughter. The prosecutor also disclosed that the wife caught him assaulting the five-year-old.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate Bola Osunsanmi did not take the plea of Olanrewaju ordered his remand. She adjourned the matter until June 26 for legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
