A suspect identified as Samuel Kehinde is on trial over allegations of motorcycle theft in Lagos.
Kehinde, 36, was accused of stealing the item valued at N1,200,000.
He was arrainged at the Badagry Magistrates’ Court on a two-count charge of felony and theft.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
Nevertheless, the prosecutor, Inspector Ayodele Adeosun, said that Kehinde alongside others at large committed the offences on September 24 at about 11:00.a.m at Eyenkole Community, Ilogbo-Eremi, Badagry, Lagos.
He said the litigant stole the motorcycle with registration number DX 167 QP which belongs to one Rabiu Semiu.
Adeosun further disclosed that the suspect was nabbed while trying to sell it to an intending buyer.
The alledged offences contravened Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state, 2015, according to the prosecutor.
The court Magistrate, Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Adekomaiya ordered that one of the sureties must be a Lagos State civil servant on level 12. He adjourned the case till November 5.
