Man In Court For Allegedly Stealing N300,000

One Chika Nwokporo has been held for trial for alledgedly stealing the sum of N300,000 in Ikorodu.

Nwokporo, 33, is facing trial on charges of stealing.

He pleaded guilty.

At the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Police Prosecutor, ASP Christian Okonofua, said that the accused committed the offence sometime in November 2024 at Ajocard Microfinance Company in Ikorodu.

Okonofua said : “The defendant stole the company’s money, which was under her care. He converted the money to hís personal use.

“The offences contravened Section 287 (7)of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”

Reports have it that the section stipulates seven years jail term for stealing from one’s employer.

The court granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like.

The matter was adjourned till March 6.
