Man Faces Prosecution Over Theft Of Four Motorcycles

An alleged transgresor, Ibrahim Babangida, is facing prosecution over allegations of stealing four motorcycles.

Ibrahim, standing trial on a six-count charge bordering on stealing, impersonation and possession of fake currency

at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, was said to have stolen the items all valued at N4.4 million at different locations, as told by the Prosecutor, Christian Okonofua.

Okonofua submitted that the 28-year-old suspect, on February 27, at about 7.00 p.m at Sabo Market, Ikorodu, stole a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with registration number BGD 348, valued at N1.25 million, belonging to one Saradeen Sanni and also stole another red Boxer motorcycle valued at N955,000, property of Muawuya Usman.

He alleged that on May 15, 2025, at about 4.00 p.m. at the Powerline area, the defendant also stole a black-coloured TBS motorcycle without a registration number, valued at N850,000, belonging to Masiru Adamu.

The prosecutor also mentioned that on Sept. 20, 2025, at about 12.00 p.m. at the Mile 12 under bridge, the defendant stole one red Boxer motorcycle without a registration number valued at N1.35 million, belonging to Umar Aliru.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the allegations.

Okonofua said that the offences contravene Sections 77, 287, and 370 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Thereafter, the court granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till March 23.
