Man arraigned in court for stealing palm oil

A Magistates’ Court in Ikorodu has remanded one Arikpo Ikpi in prison for stealing 830kg of palm oil.
Ikpi, 29 years of age, at the court sitting presided by Magistate Adedeji Ogbe, pleaded guilty to the crime of stealing charged against him by the Police.
Police Prosecutor, Adegeshin Famuyiwa, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 25, 2023, at PZ Cussons, Odogunyan, Ikorodu.
Famuyiwa further said that Ikpi stole the palm oil valued at N954,000, belonging to a firm identified as Trucksoft Logistics Ltd but was caught by security guards who handed him over to the police.
The prosecutor stated that the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistate Ogbe adjourned the case until January 18 to review the facts and sentencing.
