The Nigerian Breweries Plc-Felix Ohiwerei Trust Fund has announced an extension for the submission of entries for the 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year competition.

Originally, the deadline was set for Friday, July 19, 2024, but it has now been moved to Friday, August 2, 2024, to accommodate more participants. The reason for the extension, according to Mrs. Sade Morgan, the Corporate Affairs Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, was in response to requests from teachers who needed more time to apply and submit their entries.

To participate, eligible teachers can visit the dedicated website (www.maltinateacheroftheyear.com) to complete the entry form online. Alternatively, they can download the form, complete it, scan it, and email to maltinateacheroftheyear@heineken.com.

She announced that the Maltina Teacher of the Year competition is now accepting applications for its 10th edition from all secondary school teachers in Nigeria, including those in public and private schools. The competition aims to acknowledge the valuable contributions of teachers to the education sector in the country.

She urged eligible teachers from both public and private secondary schools to take advantage of this opportunity and apply for the competition if they fulfill all the requirements.

Additionally, she mentioned that the winner of the 2024 edition will be awarded a trophy, a cash prize of N10 million, and a chance for overseas capacity development training. The winner’s school will also receive either a block of classrooms or a computer laboratory.

“The first runner-up of the competition will equally receive a trophy and a total sum of N3,000,000, while the second runner-up receives a trophy and a total sum of N2,500,000. All State Champions will be rewarded with recognition plaques and a cash prize of N1,000,000 each,” she added.
