Mafoluku Pry Sch comes third in Lagos Governor’s quiz competition

Out of the six schools that participated in the 2020 Lagos State Schools Governor’s quiz competition, primary category held on zoom, Mafoluku Primary School, Oshodi emerged third losing first and second positions to Ahmad Primary School, Agege and LG Oke Ishegun Primary School, Alimosho respectively.

The trophy was presented to the two female pupils, Okikiola Idowu and Mariam Jimoh both in primary six, who represented the school in the competition at Alausa.

At the award presentation ceremony at Alausa, the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo; the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Abosede Adelaja; the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Chairman, Alawiye King and the Director of Co-Curricular, Mrs. Agagu all commended the efforts of the competitors irrespective of their positions.

The six schools that partook in the competition are FACM Primary School, Ifako; Mafoluku Nursery and Primary School, Oshodi; Ahmad Primary School, Agege; St. Agnes Primary School, Maryland, LG Oke Ishegun Primary School, Alimosho and Oluwole Primary School.

The pupils were tested on four subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Basic Science and Current Affairs.

After series of questions, only three schools made it to the final stage of the competition in which Mafoluku eventually emerged third.

Commending the pupils for their efforts, the Education Secretary (ES), Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Education Athourity ( LGEA), Barr. Femi Ogunwusi stated: “We are striving very hard and we will soon achieve the best, having made the first position among the 774 local government in Nigeria at the National Science Technology and Arts competition organised by the NTA for all the local governments in Nigeria, I believe we can achieve more.”

Mrs Obiageli Lawal, the co-curricular desk teacher and Mr. Babatunde Agbalaya, class teacher of Mafoluku representative also commended the pupils effort, saying they only trained for one week before the competition.
