Lagos State Electricity Board (LSEB) has repaired the street lights on Ago Palace Way to boost the security of the community.

After the repairs, the highway was illuminated for some minutes on Wednesday night but the light cut off again.

The LSEB General Manager, Mr. Mukhtar Tijani, explained that the cut off was caused by some tractions which were being looked into, promising that power supply would be restored to the highway and would be sustained at the completion of all repairs.

The repairs were in response to complaints to the board by the councillor representing Apena Ward, Hon. Remy Shittu Remy on the danger the blackout posed to security and monitoring of refuse disposal violations on the highway. Commending the state government for its quick response to the request, Remy noted that the development would discourage residents from dumping of waste on the median and roadsides at night, adding that it would also serve as security to curb other social vices normally perpetrated by some miscreants at night.

“Prior to this time, there have been cases of residents taking the opportunity of the darkness to dump wastes on the median and roadsides, I believe with this development, such uncivil act will cease and we (community residents) will be encouraged to be more responsible to our community,” he said.
