As lockdown is being relaxed in the state, the Chairman, Community Development Committee (CDC), Ejigbo LCDA, Prince Jelili Atiku, has promised that the committee would not relax on helping the community to survive at this period of pandemic.
He said the CDC would keep working to ensure that the residents are doing the needful by following the precautions to limit the spread of the corona virus in the community.
He commended the committee set up on COVID-19 tagged “COVID-19 Community Care” for its efforts so far in making sure the people in the community were taken care of and protected.
He said: “As Lagos begins a gradual relaxation of lockdowns on Monday, May 4, our focus in the CDC will be on limiting the spread of COVID-19. We will strive to maintain strict adherence to the government directives so as to prevent community spread of the virus.
“We will continue with our Community Care project. We have understood that the situation we find ourselves requires community to stand by itself and support itself while maintaining social distancing.”
He also said the team has been planning to concentrate on making publicity on the effects of the refusal to obey directive of government on prevention of COVID-19.
He urged the community to ensure all the safety measures outlined for their safety are strictly followed even as they go out on their businesses.
