Lecturer Under Fire as Police, UNILAG Probe Sexual Assault Allegation”

A lecturer at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, has been accused of s3xually assaulting a 20-year-old female student of the institution.
According to sources, the 300-level student, whose identity has been withheld, reported the incident to the police on August 28, 2025.
She alleged that on August 22, 2025, at about 12:00 p.m., the lecturer invited her into his office, where he allegedly forced himself on her. The victim was later taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The university management has confirmed awareness of the allegation and disclosed that the matter has been reported to the appropriate police authorities. It added that the University’s Safeguarding Centre is providing support to the student.
Head of UNILAG’s Communication Unit, Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, said the institution has set up a panel to investigate the case and assured that the findings would be made public once the process is concluded.
“The public is hereby assured that the University will conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice for all involved,” Alaga-Ibraheem stated.
She further encouraged students and members of the university community to report any form of harassment or misconduct through the institution’s designated offices.
