For the first time in three months, the seven councillors comprising the Legislative Arm in Isolo LCDA will, on Tuesday,  take their seats in the newly-upgraded Legislative Arm to make laws for the good governance of the council.

While presenting the key of the newly refurbished building to the leader of the House, Hon. Remy Shittu Remy, the council chairman, Hon. Shamsudeen Olaleye said the official commissioning of the project would be done later this year.

Responding, Remy, who appreciated the council chairman for granting the request of the house for the rehabilitation of the building, said Isolo now has one of the best and more conducive chambers for legislation, saying the standard of the chamber could compete with others anywhere.

He said: “We really appreciate the council chairman for listening to our voice, we made an appeal to him for renovation of the legislative building and he has done it. We are grateful.”

It was learnt that the building which now has great aesthetics and furnished  with new furniture and fittings which include table microphone was built during the administration of the first executive chairman of the council, Mrs. Mary Modupeola Oseghale.

However, Remy said the legislative building would have been better if it accommodates offices for Personal Assistants as seen in other legislative buildings, especially Oshodi-Isolo LGA.

First plenary session in the newly renovated chamber is expected to hold on Thursday, March 19, 2020.
