Member at the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency 01, Honourable Ganiyu Okanlawon, has launched a digital Academy in the area where youths will be beneficiaries of free ICT training.
Okanlawon, at the launch of the academy on Thursday, disclosed that it was established to nurture next generation innovators in the ICT world.
The legislator also informed that the provision will serve as an empowerment to the beneficiaries giving them a sense of belonging which will aid a promising future.
Okanlawon who doubles as the Chairman of Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development at the Assembly said that the training center identified as ‘OKLA Computer Academy’ has the capacity to equip the youths with necessary skills and knowledge they need for ICT expertise.
The young beneficiaries were given manual books to help them have full understanding of the training exercise.
Okanlawon urged them to uphold the knowledge imparted to them at the training. He urged them to shun questionable acts which may hamper a promising future.
The legislator further said that the establishment of the training centre is a proof that the government holds the masses at heart. He also assured that the constituency will continue to get more empowerment programs as part of dividends of democracy to the community.
