Lawmaker at the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ifako-Ijaiye Constituency 01, Emmanuel Olotu, has presented cash gifts to individuals in the community.
During the event on Friday, Olotu distributed N30 million to 600 constituents.
The act is to cushion the effects of the current economic challenges, as said by the lawmaker.
On Friday, all 40 lawmakers in the state held the Assembly’s 9th Constituency Stakeholders’ Meeting in their respective constituencies and at Ojokoro, in Ifako-Ijaiye, Olotu said that the empowerment program tagged “Ensuring Food Security for Sustainable Future: Youth Participation and Home-Grown Farming” was for various cadres of people in his constituency including women, youths, artisans and the elderly, who were selected from various wards and community development associations.
The legislator said: “We must empower our people, especially at this time, to cushion the effects of the current socio-economic challenges.
“We will continue to prioritize the needs and welfare of the people.
“My advice to the beneficiaries is to use the gesture to better their lot and that of the family.”
