In a whirlwind of celebration, Dr. Steven Anu’ Adesemoye, a prominent broadcast teacher from the Mass Communication Department of Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), has proudly obtained his Doctorate degree from the University of Malaya in Malaysia.

He embarked on this academic journey for approximately two years and emerged triumphant.

Dr. Adesemoye is a multifaceted professional, excelling in various fields such as broadcast education, TV content direction, film and script writing, as well as public relations and branding expertise.

His doctoral thesis, titled “Reception of Paranormal Depictions in Selected Nollywood Films: A Comparative Cultural Analysis of Living in Bondage: Breaking Free and Thunderbolt among Nigerian Viewers in Nigeria and Canada,” delves into the intricate realm of global and local cultural influences on film viewership.

Notably, his research has already made waves with several papers published in international journals, including “Perception and Acceptance of Nollywood as Nigeria’s Cultural Ambassador among University Students,” featured in the European Journal of Communication and Media Studies in 2023.

Dr. Adesemoye’s contributions to the academic community are indeed remarkable.
