LASURA Commissions New Office In Lagos Island

The Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency, LASURA, has opened its new office annnex in Lagos.

During the official unveiling of the office at Nnamdi Azikiwe area, Victoria Island, the Special Adviser to the Governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Olajide Babatunde, said that the facility will aid proximity between property developers in the area with other areas in the state at large.

Babatunde added that the new measure will enable urban renewal which will prevent government properties from damage and also reduce slums.

LASURA General Manager, Animashaun Oladimeji, stressed that the new facility will enhance the agency’s operational efficiency and improve it’s service delivery to the residents in the state.

Oladimeji also informed that the initiative is part of the agency’s efforts in ensuring that Lagos becomes a 21st-century city. He noted that the commissioning is in line with THEMES Plus Agenda of Sanwo-Olu in ensuring more growth in the metropolis.

The agency’s GM also disclosed that the office will enhance revenue generation, monitoring and recovery of properties unlawfully acquired by private individuals and developers, and provide additional space for staff.
