Owseni Primary School Oshodi; Local Government Primary School, Shogunle; Kusoro Primary School, Ilasa Isolo; Ire- Akari Estate Model Primary School, Isolo and Ayoadegboyega Primary School, Ejigbo are among the five schools which benefitted from the sport materials provided by the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in conjunction with National Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
The schools, two from each of Oshodi-Isolo LG and Isolo LCDA and one from Ejigbo LCDA are the lucky five among the 56 primary schools across Oshodi-Isolo-Isolo community to be among the first batch to enjoy the gifts.
They received the materials last week.
The bodies have provided the materials as an effort to improve the psycho-motor aspect of learning and to nurture their talents in sports at tender age.
The beneficiary schools received five packs of the sport materials which contained 14 pieces of jersey for football team players; 20 skipping ropes; 5 Table Tennis boards; 5 Scrabble boards; 5 chess boards; 5 Monopoly boards and 10 footballs.
The Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) Sport Desk Officer, who is in charge of the distribution of the materials, Mrs. Beatrice Oyemakinde, explained that each school got 4 skipping ropes, one Monopoly board one Chess board, one Table Tennis board , one Scrabble board, two footballs and one pack of jerseys which contains 14 pieces of jersey for a football team.
She informed that the second batch of the sport materials may be distributed in February 2021 to other schools across the state.
