LASU Celebrates Alumna’s Triumph on “Masoyinbo”

Lagos State University (LASU) extends its warmest congratulations to Ayọka Roqeebat Kazeem, a distinguished alumna, for her unprecedented achievement as the first-ever winner of a brand-new car on the highly acclaimed Yoruba language game show, “Masoyinbo”.

Ayọka’s remarkable success is a testament to her exceptional intellectual abilities and profound understanding of the Yoruba language, a proficiency rooted in her education at LASU’s Department of Linguistics, African Languages and Communication Arts, Faculty of Arts.

As an undergraduate, Ayọka served as Secretary of the Yoruba and Linguistics Students’ Association, earning recognition for her brilliance, leadership, and dedication to promoting indigenous languages and cultures.

Her feat on “Masoyinbo”, a celebrated program that honours Yoruba heritage through language-based challenges, reflects both personal excellence and the university’s enduring legacy of producing graduates who lead with knowledge, confidence, and cultural pride.

Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, Vice-Chancellor of LASU, commends Ayọka Roqeebat for her accomplishments, referring to her as a shining ambassador of LASU whose triumph on the show exemplifies the values instilled in her by the university.
