LASPA Issues Final Notice on 2025 Parking Levies, Warns Defaulters of Enforcement
The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has issued a final notice to parking operators across the state to settle outstanding 2025 parking levies, warning that enforcement actions will soon commence against defaulters.
The General Manager of LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, made this known on Thursday during an interaction with journalists on the activities of the authority.
Adelabu explained that Demand Notices for the 2025 parking levies were earlier issued to all registered parking operators in the state, with payment expected within seven days of receiving the notice. She, however, noted that several organisations are yet to comply with the directive.
According to her, payment of parking levies is a statutory obligation backed by the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law 2018, stressing that the levy is not optional and that defaulters will face sanctions in accordance with the law.
“Demand Notices were dispatched to all relevant corporate bodies well in advance. The expectation is clear: payment must be made within seven days of receiving the notice,” she said.
She added that despite the ample notice given, some organisations have yet to remit their 2025 parking fees, warning that the grace period for compliance is now closing.
Adelabu further stated that the funds generated from parking levies are crucial for maintaining a structured and efficient parking management system, as well as improving traffic flow and urban mobility across Lagos State.
The LASPA boss disclosed that the authority will soon commence state-wide monitoring and enforcement operations, targeting organisations operating parking facilities within their premises or using building setbacks for parking without valid payment receipts.
She warned that such organisations will be classified as defaulters and sanctioned accordingly.
Adelabu therefore urged all affected stakeholders who are yet to pay the 2025 parking levies or regularise their operational status with the authority to do so immediately in order to avoid enforcement actions and associated penalties.
The Lagos State Government has continued to strengthen its parking management framework as part of broader efforts to improve transportation planning and create a more organised urban environment across the state.
