LASG Issues N8.4bn To 12,000 MSME Enterprises

Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has revealed that his administration has invested over N8.4bn to support more than 12,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises across the state over the last four years.
Speaking at the Micro Enterprise Support Initiative event held at LTV 8, Ikeja, Yesterday and organised by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Sanwo-Olu reiterated his commitment to building an inclusive economy that equips every Lagosian with the tools to thrive.
“When we uplift one entrepreneur, we uplift an entire family, a whole community, and ultimately, the future of Lagos,” Sanwo-Olu said. “Over the last four years, this administration has invested over N8.4bn to support more than 12,000 MSMEs, showcasing our steadfast commitment to fostering an economy where businesses can thrive and no one is left behind.”
1,700 beneficiaries who had received training in vocations, including sewing, catering, agriculture, photography, carpentry, and hairdressing were empowered with financial support and necessary business equipment.
“Today, we’re thrilled to empower 1,700 dedicated individuals women, men, and youth who embody the future of our state’s economy,” Sanwo-Olu said. “Through this support, we’re not just providing start-up capital, we’re unlocking potential, restoring dignity, and opening doors to brighter, more prosperous lives.”
Governor Sanwo-olu advised the beneficiaries directly, that, “What you’re receiving today is more than just a grant, it’s a tremendous opportunity. Use it wisely, grow your businesses, create jobs, and support others. Let this be the beginning of something great.”
Sanwo-Olu laud the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and its leadership for the implementation of the MESI programme.
