The Lagos State Health District III Yesterday August 12 held a community engagement with the Local Government Health Authority of World Health Committee Chairmen and Market Women, held at the Ayeteju Primary Health Care Center.

Permanent Secretary Health, District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke addressed the audience on Public health challenges ranging from communicable and non-communicable diseases, while encouraging everyone to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Speaking further, the Permanent Secretary advised the World Health Committee Chairmen to take the news to all hinterlands in order to encourage women to visit Government owned health centres instead of patronizing unregistered Traditional Birth Attendance homes which has contributed more to maternal death rates among pregnant women.

The Chairman of Ibeju Lekki Local Government, Egnr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa talked about the Primary Health Care Center at Awoyaya which will be renovated with a standard ward and fully equipped with furniture sets and the staff quarters at Ibeju-Agbe, which was built by his administration to be equipped as well, while also touching on Orimedu, Debojo and Solu Alade.

Recall that, Olowa’s administration at the inception of the administration went all out on a massive turn around of the health sector which has in turn birthed standard Health centers which stands the test of time.
