LASEPA Seals Hotels, Bakery In Agege, Iyana Ipaja

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, has sealed establishments in Agege and Iyana Ipaja over violation of environmental laws.

The agency stated that the move was carried out to combat environmental violations and safeguard public health.

The establishments where activities are put on hold include Chanelrose Lounge and Bar, Mama Juli Lounge and Bakery, Klub P-14 Hotel and Baltimore Industries Limited.

The enforcement which was also carried out at Fagba and Ifako-Ijaiye affected establishments reported to be Iju-Ishaga City Hotel and Lounge, Chitec Aluminum and Safeland Hotel.

LASEPA mentioned that despite prior warnings, the business outlets were found to be in violation of various environmental regulations.

The agency’s General Manager, Babatunde Ajayi, reiterated that LASEPA remains commited to strict enforcement of environmental standards. He added: “Our stance on non-compliance is clear and it will not be tolerated.

“Businesses must acknowledge their environmental responsibilities and work with the State government to ensure a cleaner and more sustainable Lagos.”

“The affected establishments will remain closed until they fully comply with LASEPA’s regulatory requirements and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining environmental standards.

“Business owners in the Lagos must be conscious of the need to protect the environment from various abuses. Whatever is thrown to the environment is going to be thrown back.”
