The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has revealed the damages caused by the burnt Mobil filling station which caught fire on the early hours of Thursday morning.
LASEMA responded to a distress call at 11:08 AM on [Date] regarding a fire at the Mobil filling station opposite Airport Hotel, Allen Junction. Upon arrival, LASEMA’s Tiger Response Team discovered the filling station engulfed in flames.
Investigations revealed that a 12-ton gas truck exploded, igniting the fire and damaging several vehicles within the station and a nearby building. The exact cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
LASEMA further disclosed that six vehicles were damaged. The second floor of an adjacent building was affected. Two adults sustained severe burns, while others suffered minor injuries. All victims were treated by LASEMA’s Pre-Hospital Care Team and transferred to LASUTH.
According to LASEMA, safety measures were immediately implemented to protect responders.
The Tiger Response Team coordinated rescue efforts with other emergency services.
The fire was brought under control and contained, preventing further spread. There were no fatalities reported.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
