One of the prominent aspirants of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) jostling for a seat at the Lagos State House of Assembly to represent Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II, Hon. Ayo Davies, has given reasons why he won’t be pushing further on his aspiration for the lofty seat.

Davies who had hinted about his interest in the position in the wake of his defeat to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Abisodun Odusina Adeoye of Ishagated/Ire-Akari Ward during last year’s local government elections, an election he described unfair, has now reached a compromise on his decision.

The former councilorship candidate and media personality who is now the publicity secretary of the party in Oshodi-Isolo LGA explained that his decision was influenced by insightful advice from leaders and elders of the party.

His words: “Yes, I won’t be going ahead with my aspiration for LAHA Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2 seat in the coming election. My withdrawal from the race has become expedient and sacrosanct as a result of my series of consultations with leaders and elders. I didn’t step down for anyone, I withdrew from the race for now and I’m open to working with every aspirant.”

Davies expressed his confidence that the party is poised for victory in the 2023 general elections as he explained that the ruling All Progressives Congress to have failed the people.

He, however, charged members of the party to remain united boasting that with a united front, PDP will dislodge APC in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1 and 2 and also at the state and federal levels.
