Lagos Trains Law Enforcement Officers On Effective Service

Lagos State Government, LASG, has started a training exercise for law enforcement officers in the state to enhance professionalism and effective service.
The executive arm through it’s agency, Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI), at the weekend, stated that about 5,000 officers will undergo the training.
LASG hinted that the program targeted to improve public service delivery in the state’s law enforcement landscape will involve officers from the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA, Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI, Central Business District, CBD, Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, LSNC, and Vehicle Inspection Services.
The state government also informed that the training will last for six weeks at the Ikeja Grammar School, Bolade, Oshodi.
The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of LETI, Abiola Adeyinka at the opening batch of the exercise on Tuesday, where 450 participants had their training, highlighted the significance of continuous professional development for the officers.
Abiola said: “The topics the trainees will be exposed to include Human Rights and Law Enforcement, Traffic Management and Control, Public Order Management, Conflict Resolution and De-escalation, Modern Policing Techniques, Community Engagement and Public Relations/Interpersonal Relations.
“Lagos State remains commited towards maintaining high standard in the duties of the law enforcement officers. This initiative is targeted to equip them with the necessary tools needed to meet the evolving demands of their roles.”
The Institute informed that the state government is recording improvement in the conduct and comportment of law enforcement officers across ministries, departments and agencies.
