Lagos Trains CDA Advisory Council On Government Projects

The Lagos State Government, LASG, has held a training session for Community Development Association, CDA, on projects in the state.

LASG, during the exercise, also trained members of the CDA Advisory Council on safeguard of governmental projects and it’s use in their communities.

The Special Adviser to the state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Rural Development, Nurudeen Agbaje, said that the government has continued to engage communities in fostering sustainable developments marked for better living conditions for the residents.

Agbaje, during the initiative held at Alausa Secretariat, in Ikeja on Tuesday, disclosed the important roles played by community leaders in re-evaluating ways to form collaboration with the state government. He stated that the training would meet strategic and critical needs to equip the community leaders with tools for strategic partnership and community development.

The Special Adviser assured the state government’s continued efforts in empowering community voicing by providing opportunities for capacity building, education, and leadership development. He also held that the communities will be encouraged to participate meaningfully in decision-making processes and take ownership of sustainability initiatives.

Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Kikelomo Bolarinwa, emphasized that the program will provide an avenue for the government to identify ways in wading into issues affecting the communities.

Bolarinwa urged the participants to use the insights in the training program for their benefit and also contribute to the growth of the state.
