Lagos Train Crash: LASU Calls For Blood Donors

The Authority of Lagos State University, LASU has urged willing members of staff to donate blood to save the lives of the victims of Lagos train, bus crash.
Scores of the victims are presently receiving treatment at the state University Teaching Hospital Ikeja.
In a statement made available to oir correspondent by the institution’s Public Relations unit, members of staff who are ready to donate blood should visit Lagos State College of Medicine or contact the Director of Clinical Services, Professor Adebowale Adekoya.
The statement reads “The LASU authority hereby calls on willing members of staff to donate blood for victims involved in the unfortunate train/bus accident of Thursday, 9th March 2023. The accident was recorded at PWD area of Lagos State.
In view of the many casualties involved in the avoidable accident and the dire need for more blood donors to donate blood in order to save lives, the University Authority hereby appeals to willing members of staff to immediately contact the Director, Clinical Services, Prof. Adebowale Adekoya on:

The Governor, Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-olu, has since declared three days of mourning and that all flags should be flown at half mast.
His words “… Tomorrow – Friday, 10th March 2023, all civil servants should work till 12:00 noon before returning home to be with their loved ones during this trying time…it is still critical period for some of the patients as we continue to call for blood donations across different State government medical facilities. This is a call for our humanity to rise above all”, the Governor said.
