Lagos Taskforce Arrests 33 Suspected Hoodlums In Ikoyi, Victoria Island

In a bid to curb occurrences of criminal activities and ensuring adherence to environment laws, the Lagos State Taskforce agency has arrested no fewer than 33 suspected hoodlums accused of causing breach of peace in the state’s communities.
The Taskforce team apprehended the suspescts, all male, while conducting a midnight raid stating that further investigations are ongoing to unravel situations leading to the letdown of order in the areas.
The agency disclosed that the enforcement was carried out at about 1:30am on Wednesday, informing that the arrestees will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, stressed that the arrests were made as part of efforts to restore order and public safety after a distress call by residents and passerbys citing occurrences of several criminal activities at Victoria Island, Falomo Bridge, Ligali Street and Ikoyi, where the individuals were nabbed.
Wahab disclosed that the agency, in line with the directives of the Lagos State Government will continue to arrest individuals culpable of hampering the flow of tranquility in the state. He urged the public to desist from criminal activities and imbibe in themselves the spirit of serenity for the benefit of the state and it’s residents.
