The Lagos State Taskforce has arrested at least 84 persons in Agege for violating environmental laws and constituting breach of peace.
In the quest to reinforce public safety and eliminate criminal activity, the agency arrested the individuals who have been alleged of terrorizing residents in community as well as across the state.
Following several security complaints, the Taskforce team, on Friday, carried out the enforcement at notorious criminal hotspots which include Railway corridor, Isale Oja, Oke koto, AP and other adjoining streets, where some undesirable elements were noticed.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said that the arrests of the suspects consisting of 82 male and 2 females will serve as deterrent to others who indulge in the criminal act.
Wahab disclosed that all the arrestees are under interogation and will be charged to court upon completion.
The Commissioner further reaffirmed that the state government under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu remains resolute in its mission to create a safe, serene, and habitable environment across the metropolis.
