Lagos State Women’s League: SGH Sports Amazons Records Away Win

SGH Sports Amazons started their campaign in the Lagos State Women’s League with an away win against FC Phoenix Queens in Apapa.

Goals from Blossom Uwake and Kabirat Salami sealed the win for the Godly Girls while Nigeria U17 star, Ayomide Ademola grabbed the consolatory strike for FC Phoenix Queens.

The encounter between SGH Sports Amazons and FC Phoenix Queens was a keenly contested tie in the first 45 minutes as both sides went close to open the scoring.

The first half didn’t produce any goal as both sides safeguarded their goal nets.

Uwake broke the deadlock of the game in the 70th minute with a swift strike to give SGH Sports Amazons the lead.

Ten minutes later, Salami doubled the away side advantage in the game with an emphatic strike.

Flamingos star, Ayomide fantastic strike to pull back a goal for FC Phoenix Queens in the 88th minute wasn’t enough to salvage a point for the home side.
