Lagos Seals Relaxation Centres Over Encroachment Into Govt properties

The Lagos State Government has banned activities at two relaxation centres in Okun-Ajah over Encroachment Into government properties.

The facilities: Timeless Beach and another Timeless Beach were sealed alongside an order of restrained activities at other buildings numbered 180.

The Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development, while sanctioning the facilities stated that the enforcements were carried out due to failure to comply with summons over encroachment on State-owned land.

The Commissioner for the Ministry, Dayo Alebiosu, said that the managements deliberately disregarded multiple warnings from the State Government over time.

Alebiosu said that the letdown of rules and property ownership cannot be tolerated.

He said that more than 40 offenders who had earlier been served contravention notices for encroachment had been accommodated by the State Government and issued their E-Survey documents after fulfilling all requirements stipulated by law, but some others have remained non-adhering and erected their structures illegally.

The Commissioner uttered that Over 20 suspected defaulters were arrested in the course of the enforcement and will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Alebiosu added that the is keen in ensuring protection against of state owned land and ensuring sustainable development along the State’s waterfronts.
