Lagos Seals Building Over Wastewater Pollution

A building in Lekki area of Lagos has been sealed over wastewater discharge.
The Lagos State Government, LASG, through it’s Wastewater Management Office, sealed the property at 5, Ayinde Akinmade Street in area, stating that the sanction is line with the state’s Environmental Management Protection Law, EMPL, 2017.
The agency disclosed that the enforcement also aligns with the state’s ongoing efforts to promote a sustainable environment and safeguard public health.
During the sealing of the residential building on Tuesday, officers of the agency found out that the water discharge was also leaking raw sewage contents through pipes at the rear end of the property.
Furthermore, it was reported that the occupant of the building failed to oblige to several warnings by the agency to address the unwanted condition.
The state’s government reminisced its prohibition against environmental pollution and warned that violators will face necessary sanctions.
