Lagos Resident Faces Court Trial For Indiscriminate Dumping

A Lagos resident has been apprehended for allegedly contravening the environmental law.
He was accused of dumping refuse on the road, Echonews has gathered.
According to the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the alleged offender dumped his waste on a public road after which he was arrested by enforcement officers during an early morning patrol.
Wahab, on the incident which happened on Monday, stated that the man would be charged to court.and sentenced accordingly to serve as a deterrent to other inhabitants in the state who may be indulging in the act.
“During our early morning patrol today, the individual seen in the video was apprehended for dumping refuse on the road,” the Commissioner mentioned.
“He suspect will be charged in accordance with the environmental laws of Lagos State. We will continue to enforce these laws to ensure compliance and maintain a clean and orderly environment.”
Wahab noted that the action is part of ongoing efforts to enforce environmental laws and maintain sanitation across the state.
