During a session at the Lagos State House of Assembly on February 20, 2024, Mr. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode from Oshodi-Isolo constituency I advocated for a prompt and immediate resolution to the ongoing economic difficulties being experienced by the people of Lagos and the entire country.

This plea was raised during discussions on an urgent public issue introduced by Mr. Ege Olusegun from Ojo constituency I.

“We cannot close our eyes and say we don’t really what is happening in the country currently. It is time for us to put our heads together and find a lasting solution to this hardship.

If those who are close to us find it hard and difficult to find their way to work due to price situation in the country not to even talk of the people who don’t have job.”

We need to call back our Local Government Chairmen to come forward and we should see what they are doing that we could see at home front and we should call our Governor that we should sir down together as stakeholders to find a lasting solution to this hardship because if something urgently is not done and as we know Lagos is a place we all know where others use to follow and we should continue to take that leadership role” Ogundipe warned.

The prayer of the prime mover of the motion was unanimously adopted that the Governor should as a matter of urgency convey a stakeholders meeting involving all National Assembly members from the state, All State Assembly members, all Local Government Chairmen in the state and all cabinets members so as to look into the situation together in order to proffer solutions.
