A female resident in Lagos, Chidinma Obishe, has been remanded in prison for assaulting an officer of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps, LAGESC, while trying to evade arrest having neglected the use of the overhead bridge.

Obishe, in a viral video, was seen tangling with the officer at Ojota area of the state, violently attacking her after contravening the state’s road laws.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said that failure to use the state’s bridges is an offense under the state’s environmental and traffic regulations.

Wahab relayed that the offender was given a remand order at the Magistrates’ Court sitting at Bolade, Oshodi, pending the start of her trial on July 1.
