Lagos Govt Restricts Activities In Hotels, Gas Station Over Noise Pollution

The Lagos State Government has restricted activities in firms over allegations of environmental infractions through noise pollution.

The state government through it’s Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, disclosed that enforcement held on Tuesday, which was also carried out at religious facilities was held following persistent noise pollution which caused a breach of peace in their surroundings.

LASEPA noted that enforcement held on Tuesday was part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to uphold environmental standards and ensure public health and safety in residential and commercial areas.

The sealed firms at Aguda, Surulere, LASU-Iba Road, Ilogbo Road, Jakande, Ajangbadi, Ojo, Okokomaiko, and Agric Bus Stop include: Admax Lounge, Casco Gas Plant, Food Affairs, Hotel De Bravo, JC Wellington Hotel & Suites, Niger Villa, Nayon Superstores, Another Level Hotel, The Levite Assembly, Lutana Lounge & Suites, and Kelwinson Hotel.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, stated that the facilities include: Admax Lounge, Casco Gas Plant, Food Affairs, Hotel De Bravo, JC Wellington Hotel & Suites, Niger Villa, Nayon Superstores, Another Level Hotel, The Levite Assembly, Lutana Lounge & Suites, and Kelwinson Hotel.

“LASEPA intensified its enforcement operations on Tuesday, June 17 by sealing off multiple facilities across the Lagos Mainland over persistent noise pollution.”

Wahab reiterated the government’s commitment towards enforcing environmental laws to safeguard residents from the harmful effects of pollution.
