Lagos Govt Promises To Resolve NUAHP Agitation In Two Weeks

Lagos State Government has promised to resolve the demands of the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals (NUAHP) Lagos State Chapter within two weeks.

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Labour and Industrial Relations, Hon. Babatunde Williams, made theappealed at a meeting with the executive body of the union, urging them to shelve their planned strike action.

She assured them that two of their pending demands which are Hazard Allowance and Domestication of Consultant Pharmacy Cadre would be resolved within two weeks, He also agreed to sign a resolution in respect of other demands.

Other demands, according to him, being made by NUAHP include the implementation of Retention Allowance, Release of the Circular on the Headship of the Directorate of Medical Laboratory Services, Implementation of upward review of enhanced call/shift/non-Clinical Allowance and Non-Implementation of the circular on-call duty approved for Dental Technology Officer cadre in the Public service.

The Special Adviser explained that only two of the issues raised by NUAHP are peculiar to Lagos State and the State Government is presently working on them, pleading that the Union should not go on strike but to provide all relevant documents needed to process their demands on time.

The Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals (NUAHP), Comrade Ruben Ogunleke commended and appreciated the Lagos State Government for agreeing to sign a resolution with the Union to serve as proof of commitment on its part.
