The Lagos State Government has announced an indefinite postponement of the planned rehabilitation at Ojodu-Oworonshoki bridge.

The repairs which was initially slated to commence on Tuesday at eight districts in the state was to cause a traffic diversion leading to a directive to motorists to ply other routes to reach their destinations.

However, a statement made by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, on Friday, informed that the project has been put on hold, stating that a new date to begin the exercise will be announced in due course.

The statement reads: “The Lagos State Government wishes to inform motorists that the previously announced traffic diversion for repair works on the Ogudu–Oworonshoki Bridge has been rescheduled.

“A new date for the repair works will be communicated.

“The State Government remains committed to ensuring public safety and minimal disruption during infrastructural upgrades. We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued cooperation.”
