Aregbe emphasized the commitment of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to enhance tourism through carefully curated activities and strategic partnerships.

Aregbe highlighted the importance of tourism and entertainment in driving the governor’s “THEMES+” agenda, which focuses on six key areas: Traffic Management and Transportation, Health and Environment, Education and Technology, Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, Entertainment and Tourism, and Security and Governance.

These pillars, he explained, align with the Ministry of Tourism’s vision to bolster the state’s economy and attract global attention.

One of the key events set to take place in December is the highly anticipated Greater Lagos Fiesta, a cultural celebration that will showcase the state’s rich diversity through vibrant parades, traditional performances, and musical showcases.

Aregbe projected that the festival would bring substantial economic benefits by boosting the hospitality and retail sectors, with thousands of tourists and potential foreign investors expected to flock to the state.

The lineup for December will also include water sports, live entertainment, food exhibitions, and art displays, transforming Lagos into a bustling hub of activity.

To accommodate the anticipated influx of visitors, the state government is collaborating with private partners to enhance infrastructure, including upgraded transportation systems and improved security at key tourist attractions.

Aregbe concluded by affirming that the state’s innovative events and cultural showcases will play a pivotal role in stimulating economic growth and creating job opportunities. He noted that Lagos is poised for a tourism boom in Q4 2024, with its eyes set on becoming a leading cultural destination in Africa.
