Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, visited Joshua’s mother, a local fruit seller, after the unfortunate incident that led to the death of Joshua, a primary six pupil who was swept away by flood in the Ikosi, Ketu area of Lagos State. The purpose of the visit was to offer her heartfelt condolences and immediate support to the grieving family.

 

During the visit, Princess Samiat Bada expressed her sadness at Joshua’s sudden passing and assured his mother that the local government stands with her in this difficult time and is dedicated to preventing similar tragedies in the future. She emphasized the community’s deep loss with Joshua’s death and highlighted the need to prevent parents from experiencing such heartbreaking losses, especially in tragic circumstances like this.

 

 

In a gesture of support for Joshua’s mother during a challenging period, the Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA announced the acquisition of a new residence for her.

 

The aim is to provide her with a secure and comfortable living space, away from areas prone to flooding. Moreover, the local government plans to extend further support to ensure her welfare and stability, including financial aid and access to social services.

 

Princess Samiat Bada also highlighted the pressing issue of flooding in the community, stressing the importance of prompt actions to enhance drainage systems and infrastructure.

 

She pledged to collaborate with relevant authorities to accelerate existing projects and introduce new strategies to reduce the risk of flooding and prioritize the safety of residents.

 

 

 

The Chairman urged the community to stay watchful and take an active role in protecting their surroundings, especially during the rainy season.

 

She emphasized the importance of reporting any issues related to infrastructure and public safety to the authorities for immediate attention.

 

The residents and leaders present at the meeting thanked the Council Boss for her quick assistance and backing. They recognized the necessity of working together to tackle the community’s problems and avoid future disasters.
