Idris Okuneye, a divisive social media influencer and crossdresser also known as Bobrisky has been taken back into custody by the officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday night while trying to fly to London, United kingdom.
On Friday,1st November, Bobrisky will be scheduled to fly to Abuja as stated by an official of EFCC.
On his Instagram page, informing his followers, Bobrisky claimed to have sustained injuries during the encounter with the immigration officers and appealed for help, saying ” Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.”
However, sources revealed that Bobrisky’s arrest stemmed from his failure to respond to multiple EFCC invitations regarding the allegations he made against the commission.
In a voice note shared by a social critic, Martins Otse also known as VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have bribed EFCC Officerywoth 15 million naira to drop the money laundering charges.
The EFCC denied the allegation and established a committee to investigate. During a press briefing on Thursday,, Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwajaren, hinted that Bobrisky could face fresh charges for making false allegations.
A Top EFCC source confirmed Bobrisky’s arrest, stating , “We invited him multiple times, but he didn’t show up. He who alleges must prove. We have arrested him to substantiate his claims.
EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale confirmed Bobrisky’s arrest, adding, “Bobrisky is en route to Abuja as we speak.”
