Lagos Consumer Protection Agency Shuts Down Supermarket Over Expired Products

The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has sealed off Blessed Happy Homes Supermarket in Festac, Lagos, over the sale of expired baby foods and other harmful products.
The agency disclosed that the closure aligns with its mandate to safeguard consumers from unethical business practices and ensure that products sold in the state meet safety standards.
According to LASCOPA, the supermarket was found to stock and sell several expired items, posing serious health risks to consumers.
“This action underscores our commitment to protecting the well-being of Lagos residents and ensuring businesses operate responsibly,” the agency stated.
LASCOPA urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities involving the sale of expired or unsafe products.
The agency assured the public that it would continue its efforts to clamp down on businesses that fail to comply with safety regulations.
