The Lagos State Government has commenced screening for an empowerment program for youths in the state.

The state’s Ministry of Youth and Social Development informed that candidates who applied for the program will be examined and a number of them will be selected to benefit from the initiative known as Ibile Youth Academy.

The Ministry’s Commisioner, Mobolaji Ogunlende, disclosed that the screening will run from 10th-18th of October.

Ogunlende, while informing that the program is ongoing at the Ikeja Youth Center and other designated centres across the five divisions of the state, said that shortlisted persons will showcase their skills and talents as part of the criteria to determine their suitability for the next stage.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, assured participants of transparency, adding that those selected should take full advantage of the program to experience life transforming opportunity.

Osanyintolu noted that the IBILE Youth Academy was established by the Ministry to inculcate in youth the virtue of volunteerism and leadership qualities that would make them outstanding wherever they find themselves.
