The Lagos State House of Assembly, LAHA, has taken up an audit exercise of all 20 Local Government Areas (LGs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state.
The exercise was confirmed by the Chairman, Assembly Committee on Public Account (Local), Hon. Nureni Akinsanya on Tuesday.
Hon. Akinsanya said that the Commitee will begin with the assessment of five regions in the state: Ikosi-Isheri, Agboyi-Ketu and Bariga LCDA’s alongside Shomolu and Kosofe LG.
The lawmaker informed that the purpose of the audit is to ensure transparency and accountability in management of funds in all councils in the state.
Other members of the Assembly committee on the exercise are : Hon. Sanni Okanlawon who represents Kosofe Constituecy 01, Hon. Ogunkelu Oluwadahunsi of Epe Constituecy 02, Hon. Desmond Elliot representing Surulere Constituecy 01.
Also part of the Commitee team are Hons. Kehinde Joseph and Surajudeen Tijani of Alimosho Constituecy 02 and Ojo Constituecy 02 respectively.
