Lagos APC Completes e-Registration, Expands Membership Base Ahead of Elections
The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hailed the successful conclusion of the Party’s e-Registration exercise, describing it as a landmark achievement in strengthening internal democracy, party cohesion, and grassroots participation ahead of the nation’s next general elections.
According to party officials, the overwhelming turnout and smooth adoption of the digital registration platform reflect the growing confidence of Lagosians—and Nigerians at large—in the APC and its progressive ideals. Beyond expanding the Party’s membership base, the exercise has produced a transparent, verifiable, and credible database that accurately reflects the APC’s presence across wards, local government areas, and constituencies.
The e-Registration initiative has also reinforced internal democracy by offering a level playing field for both long-standing and new members. Participants who successfully registered now qualify to vote and be voted for in accordance with the Party’s constitution, promoting fairness, trust, and active participation within the APC.
A key feature of the exercise was the requirement for registrants to possess a valid Voter’s Card and National Identification Number (NIN), a measure that ensured the integrity of the process. This safeguard effectively eliminated the risk of “ghost members” inflating the register, thereby maintaining the credibility and authenticity of the APC’s membership database.
Officials highlighted that registering over ten million members nationwide represents a major milestone for the Party, confirming its deep-rooted structures and widespread presence across the country. Such a verifiable and extensive membership base underscores the APC’s organizational strength, grassroots connection, and broad national appeal.
“The unprecedented scale of this registration exercise gives the APC a clear head start as the nation approaches the next elections,” said a Lagos APC spokesperson. “It demonstrates our capacity for mass mobilization, readiness, and strategic advantage—developments that should be a source of concern for opposition parties.”
The Lagos APC expressed gratitude to party leaders, officials, and volunteers for their dedication and discipline throughout the e-Registration exercise. It also acknowledged the enthusiasm and cooperation of members and new registrants, whose participation contributed to a stronger and more united APC.
As preparations for the next general elections intensify, the Lagos State Chapter reaffirmed its commitment to unity, internal democracy, good governance, and the delivery of democratic dividends under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, GCFR.
