AHEAD of March 18, 2023, Guber polls in Lagos State, the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) has been doing everything within its power to ensure the events of February 25 do not repeat themselves.

This time, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso has declared that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will win the elections and that the APC would not lose in Alimosho again.

Recall that during the February 25 general elections, results declared by INEC showed that APC’s Bola Tinubu lost in Alimosho LGA, a stronghold of the APC. He lost to LP’s Peter Obi.

However, Mr Omotoso, in a chat with newsmen, affirmed that what happened in the Presidential election where APC lost to the Labour Party would not occur again as all loopholes had been cemented.

According to him, the factors that led to the APC losing Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA) in the Presidential election were being taken care of.

This may be true, as earlier this week, Alimoshotoday reported how, during a town hall meeting, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the Special Adviser to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and an indigene of Alimosho LGA, pleaded with aggrieved members of the party in the area to sheath their swords and support the party.

The meeting was very tense in Alimosho LGA, as members accused the leaders, publicly, of anti-party activities.

Speaking further, the Information Commissioner argued that among the candidates contesting the election, Sanwo-Olu stood ahead of them in everything, saying that there was no need to panic as the Governor would triumph at the end of the day.
